Hello, my sweet things.

I have finally gotten this artist situation straightened out. All four of you fantastic writers have now been assigned an artist to work with, and you ought to be in touch soon.

I apologize for the delay... things did not go as planned around here! But then, when do they, right?

Thanks for your patience!

Because everything is so far behind schedule, I am extending the deadline. It was originally June 16th... not gonna happen.

Since our boy's birthday is in August, let's shoot for August 16th. That gives you an extra two months... and then perhaps we can go "live" on his birthday, the 22nd!

Happy fic-ing & arting! ♥

Hello out there!

I have not forgotten about you, lovelies. Unfortunately, I've had a few artists disappear without a trace, which has left me two short.

Therefore, I am reduced to begging: if you are an artist who would like to do some art for an amazing Percy fic, please drop me a line... a comment to this post will suffice!

If you're an artist who's already been assigned to work with a writer but feels as though you can handle a second fic, please let me know. I would be forever in your debt.

I apologize for having to do this... but consider this a Mod-on-Her-Knees moment (interpret that as you will *g*).

Any takers?

I apologize for delay in this... RL has been eating me alive. But here it is!

We have, at the moment, four summaries for you artists to look over and choose from.

To claim a fic, post a (screened) comment to this entry with your first and second choices. When a fic has been claimed, I will cross it out, so it's a first-come, first-serve kind of thing, basically. When they have all been claimed, I will confirm with the artists and writers via email and put you guys in touch!

If there are more artists than fics -- there are five sign-ups for artists, but it appears as though one of them has disappeared, so it actually looks perfect, but we shall see -- we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Ha.

Artists, when claiming, please use this template:

Artists, Here are Your Choices! Everyone Else: Spoilers Abound! Stay Away!Collapse )

There you have it! Claim away!

Hello out there in PBB-land!

It's April 16th...

which means your first drafts are due...

and yet...

... there is nary a draft in the inbox!

The email address for your submissions is: percybigbangmod@gmail.com.

Please remember that this is just a draft. Your work does not have to be beta-read and polished up; it's just going to be something that gives your artist an idea of where you're going with your fic so they can start planning.

I was going to post a claiming post for artists next week, but if I've got nothing for them to claim, it's just not going to work. So check in! Submit! Let me know what's up!

Also, artists: if you could drop a comment to this post letting me know that you are still available (or not!), that would be great. I know it's been awhile since the original sign-ups, so I thought checking in with you would be a good idea.

If there are any new artists interested, please feel free to drop a line to me here, too; it would be tremendously helpful in terms of staying organized.

Thanks so much!

Hello everyone!

As the first drafts of the stories are due on April 16th, it's time to start thinking about matching artists with writers.

To help the artists choose the right story for them, please include a summary of your story when you send in your first draft. This should be about one paragraph long, although more detail is always welcome, and include a basic outline of the plot, the genre, the rating, any pairings, any kinks that might hook an artist or squicks that might scare them off and anything else that might help our artists decide if your story is the right one for them. Please put this summary IN A SEPARATE FILE OR THE TEXT OF YOUR EMAIL ITSELF INSTEAD OF ADDING IT TO YOUR MAIN STORY FILE. This will make it much easier for your mod to find.

The email for submission is: percybigbangmod@gmail.com. Please attach your fic as a separate file and include all proper formatting.

Also, please keep in mind that if your draft is not submitted by the deadline, we cannot promise there will be an artist for it. We will post your summary for the artists to read over once we receive the draft, but most of them will probably want to get started right away, and that will mean claiming something that is ready for them to read straight away.

Artists, please keep an eye out for your claiming post, which should appear sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Thank you so much!

PS: eruditefics reminded me... if you need a beta, the sign-up post is here! Also, please feel free to sign up there and offer your services, if you're available! First-drafts do not have to be beta-read, of course, but the post is there for when you need it!

Hello everyone!

Official writer sign-ups closed on the first, but if you're a late-comer, please don't feel unloved! You are definitely encouraged to write; we just can't guarantee you art, even if you reach the word requirement. We certainly shall try, however.

If you have asked for a cheerleader, sit tight. Matching-up is in process. If you've changed your mind one way or the other about having one, just drop a comment here and let me know. Also, if you need to drop out for any reason, a comment here will suffice for that, also. It's just nice to have a heads-up; it's certainly not a big deal. I ought to have the cheerleader business sorted out by the middle of next week. I apologize for the tardiness; it's been a bit hectic, but I haven't forgotten you, lovelies.

Of course, if you'd like to sign up for cheerleading duties, please do so, as I'm not sure we've got enough for everyone at the moment!

Keep in mind, also, that imbangingpercy is there for you to access for support, encouragement, ranting, raving, hair-pulling, commiserating, and celebrating. Please use it!

As of right now, the archiving question is still up in the air. If anybody has any suggestions, please feel free to share them. I'm rather new at this, so I welcome your help.

I hope that all is well in Percy-Land for you fine folks, and please let me or my fellow mods know if there is anything that we can do for you! Thanks for hanging in there!

It was suggested that a participant community be created for the percybigbang. And your wish, my dear participants, is my command.

So head on over to imbangingpercy and have at it! But first, you need to sign up as a writer, artist, cheerleader, or beta, as membership is restricted to Big Bang participants.

I hope that you all find this to be useful! As always, suggestions and questions are welcome, so don't hesitate!

All fics submitted to the Big Bang must be beta'd. A good beta is incredibly important. They check for spelling/grammar/punctuation, flow, characterization, plot coherency, canon compliance, britpicking, etc. They can make the difference between a mediocre fic and a fantastic one!

Fics for this Big Bang must be at least 15,000 words. That's a lot to beta! If you think you're up to the job, we'd love to have you! Sign ups are open until April 14, 2010.

Here is your template. Please copy and paste it into a comment in this post. Thank you from the bottom of our modly little hearts!

Thank you! Now, why don't you go pimp a little! Or maybe you want to be a writer (sign up here), an artist (sign up here), or a cheerleader (sign up here), too! That would be awesome; don't you think?
07 November 2009 @ 04:05 pm
A Big Bang is a big deal. Writers are committing to producing a fic of at least 15,000 words. That's hard work! Having someone to go to for encouragement, idea-bouncing, hand-holding, inspiration, and venting can make a tremendous difference. Cheerleaders are fantastic!

As a cheerleader, you are volunteering to give a writer that kind of help. You must be willing to be available via comments, instant messaging, or email to provide assistance to one of our Percy-Bangers.

If you would like to do that, we would love to have you! Your services are absolutely invaluable, and we thank you so much! Sign-ups will remain open until January 1, 2010.

Cheerleaders will be assigned to writers who request them. If you want to be one, please copy and paste the template below into the comments for this post to sign up.

Thank you! Now, what are you waiting for? Go forth and pimp this thing! Or, maybe you're ready to sign up as an author (here), an artist (here), or a beta (here)! That would be awesome, you know.

You love Percy. You want in. You're an artist (YAY!) You've read the rules and decided that you can follow them.

Beautiful! You're ready to sign up! And we're so glad you're here!

Since you're an artist, you may sign up at any point up until April 14, 2010. Please sign up if you plan to produce art. It will make things much, much easier when it comes time to assign fic for you.

We are accepting and encouraging all types of art for The Percy Weasley Big Bang. Traditional art, graphic art, soundtracks, videos, comics, etc. - it's all welcome! If you have something in mind that isn't listed here, please get in touch; odds are good that we'll be willing to work with you! You can send us a message via LJ or email us: percybigbang@gmail.com.

Here is your template. Copy and paste it into the comments on this post to sign up.

Lovely! Thank you for signing up! Now, what are you waiting for? Go forth and pimp this thing!
